Privacy Policy

Charter and its affiliates (“Charter”) are committed to protecting your privacy so we have developed privacy policies to protect the information we collect from you. We developed the Notice of Privacy Practices, which is provided to you in connection with our services and available on the site, to describe our privacy practices regarding your “Protected Health Information” as required under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 and its regulations.

This Privacy Policy applies to the Charter’s website (“Site”) and describes the types of information we may collect from you, or that you may provide when you visit the Site, and our practices for collecting and using that information.

By using the Site, you consent to the data practices described herein. We reserve the right to change the terms of this Privacy Policy by posting an updated version on the Site so that you are always aware of our process related to collection, use and disclosure of information. We urge you occasionally check the Site for any updates to the Privacy Policy.

Collection of Information

Charter collects different types of information: Personal Information and Anonymous Information.

Charter collects personally identifiable information that you voluntarily provide to us, such as your e-mail address, name, home or work address or telephone number. While visiting the Site, if you provide personally identifiable information to receive information back from us, we will collect and store that personal data.

Charter also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites.

There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by Charter. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by Charter for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Charter’s Site.

Charter encourages you to review the privacy statements of sites you choose to link to from Charter so that you can understand how those web sites collect, use and share your information. Charter is not responsible for the privacy statements or other content on web sites outside of Charter.

Use of your Personal Information

Charter collects and uses your personal information to operate the Charter’s Site and deliver the services you have requested. Charter also uses your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Charter and its affiliates. If provided to Charter, we may use your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, or other data to communicate with you.

Charter does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties. Charter may share data with trusted partners to help us perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Charter, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

Charter does not use or disclose sensitive personal information, such as race, religion, or political affiliations, without your explicit consent.

Charter keeps track of the web sites and pages our customers visit within Charter, in order to determine what Charter services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within Charter’s Site to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

Charter’s Site will only disclose your personal information, without notice, in connection with a court order, subpoena, government investigation, or as required or permitted by law.

Use of your Personal Information

The Site uses “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. The purpose of a cookie is to tell the Web server that you have returned to a specific page. For example, if you personalize Site pages, or register with Charter’s Site or services, a cookie helps Charter to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of recording your personal information, such as billing addresses, shipping addresses, and so on. When you return to the Site, the information you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use any Site features that you customized.

You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience the interactive features of the Sites

Security of your Personal Information

When personal information (such as name, email and phone number) is transmitted to the Site, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Despite instituting these standards, we cannot provide absolute assurances that the contents of messages and any confidential information you chose to send to us will be secure.
